A page from my watercolor sketchbook 2 years ago, while I was having my curls pampered by Jannell at All in the Palms Salon Studio. In her salon, she has small, ceramic houses with copper-colored roofs that always catch my eye.
When I drew this, my creative tank was filling back up, after having published The Miracle Farm the year before. But I hadn’t conceived of Copper House North as being the place where all my creative work would live, yet. It was originally intended for the book only.
But time has a way of surprising you, doesn’t it? Thoughts & dreams in the far corners of your mind often start making their way to the surface. Unrushed. And appear only when they’re ready for harvesting.
Now, 2 years after making this sketch, a beautiful thing is in the works. And it’s coming soon. Very soon. 🧡🐦
