Where the Digital Art Happens

I love getting to peek inside other artists’ working spaces. So, I decided to share a corner of my own.

It’s an eclectic space, that’s for sure. The shelves contain art supplies of every kind, drawings and paintings from over the years, and objects that have significant personal meaning. It’s a place that reminds me of where I’ve been. And one that inspires me to keep going.

Before I invested in a stand for my iPad, you’d find me hunched over the desk. Or, holding the iPad in my lap in a different room altogether. I’ve had the stand for 8 months and it helps my posture tremendously. I do most of my drawing at my desk, now.

When I’m not drawing, I simply place the stand to the side and move my keyboard forward for desktop work. This is also where I write, Zoom, do bookkeeping, etc. Basically, all the business-related things.

Getting perfectly organized is still a work in progress, as there are things in the office I can’t figure out what to do with, yet. But in general, I know where everything is when I need it.

Fun fact: the giant printer behind me is one Chad brought home from a company he used to work for, one that permanently closed its doors. It’s at least 20 years old! It’s a workhorse that keeps working, though, so I’ll replace it when it dies (though it may outlive me).
