A change in (writing) pace

You may (or may not) have noticed I’m sending this email on Monday and not Friday. And thus begins a change to the Copper House North Weekly Roundup. Since July, my creative energy has been shifting toward a new love of video and, most recently, animation. The change has been incredibly exciting. I find myself wanting to spend ALL my creative time in this way. 😯 The intent of this newsletter has been to add value to your life in the form of beauty, creativity,…

I almost didn’t write this

I almost didn’t write this. It’s Friday at 7 a.m. as I write and I normally write my newsletter on Thursday, at the latest. I didn’t think I had much to share. And possibly in all of my creative career. Here’s a…

When plans tank it might lead to something better

This week didn’t go at all the way I planned. But it made room for something completely unplanned…and wonderful. You see, Chad came down with a cold mid-last week. And we usually do a great job of not passing viruses to each other. But not this time. By Saturday my head felt like it was underwater. And that meant recording for my YouTube channel (with the camera pointed at me) was postponed. Again. At least, I…

On Making 2D Animations for the First Time

In July 2023, I made a few simple animations using Procreate, a drawing tool for the iPad. While hand lettering was my focus, I got curious about the frame-by-frame animation feature built into the software. So I gave it a whirl. It captured my attention for a minute. I learned
