Nature Inspiration

My desire to be outside these days is strong. It’s that seasonal shift, when nature awakens after a long winter, that causes me to come alive, too. I can’t get enough of the colors and textures that surround us, or the sights and sounds of animals, big and small, going about their normal day.

These are a few photos I’ve taken this month at our local Greenway. I never go there expecting to see such beauty, but to simply exercise, clear my head, and chat with a friend. So when things do catch my eye, it’s a real treat that boosts my spirit.

There were lots of turtles in addition to this one! They thrive in the swampy creek.

One of our orchids at home just blossomed, too. We have 2 of them, given to us by Chad’s mom. It’s hard to believe she’s been gone for 10 years this spring. I know she’d be proud that somehow I’ve managed to keep them alive all this time. They serve as a gentle reminder of her, every time they flower.
